About the role
The Electrical Assembler is responsible for assembling, testing and troubleshooting electrical equipment. Their background in electrical/mechanical assembly greatly aids the team and ensures fast and efficient resolution to any issues that may arise.
The successful candidate must be available to work the following shifts: Monday to Friday 6:30am-3:00pm and 2:45pm-11:15pm.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and/or modify electronic parts and equipment
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, work orders or reports
- Ensure proper soldering and installation of electric wiring
- Test and troubleshoot equipment, and correct any defects
- Set up and operate hand and power tools
- Keep track of material, tools and equipment, and inform supervisor of shortages
- Properly and consistently document and follow established procedures
- Wear proper PPE at all times (must have own helmet and steel toe boots)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Electronic/Electrical Engineering Technologist, Electrical Engineer, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical/mechanical assembly and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
Working Conditions
- Hazards associated with working in a fabrication shop (i.e. noise, machinery)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
