Job Summary
This is a great opportunity for a results-oriented Plant Manager with excellent people management skills. The Plant Manager will be responsible for managing daily production, implementation and execution of production schedules while obtaining safety and quality at the manufacturing facility. This role requires a proactive leader who can drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage change, ensure quality control, uphold a safe working environment, and optimize supply chain processes to enhance overall productivity and efficiency.

Summary of responsibilities

  • Ensures a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Manage daily operations of the plant, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Oversee end-to-end deliverables across production stages, from sales to engineering handoff up to shipping.
  • Regularly assess current and forecasted capacity needs; collaborate with team leads to adjust staffing and scheduling based on demand fluctuations.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategic plans for the plant, focusing on capacity expansion, equipment upgrades, and workforce development.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve performance targets.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies related to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Lead the safety committee , conduct regular safety meetings and promote a safety-first culture across all operations.
  • Set annual goals and provide regular performance evaluations, deliver feedback for team growth, train new employees, and foster a culture of continuous learning..
  • Mentor and develop Team Leads, building a collaborative and motivated workforce.
  • Manage staff overtime, payroll, and resolve shop-related concerns such as timeclock issues and conflict resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a plant management or similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Consistent track record in Change Management, Continuous Improvement methods (Six Sigma, Lean, 5S) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Experience in fabricating, assembling, and quality control processes.
  • Proficient in using ERP or MRP systems for production management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives successfully.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in monitoring production processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and deal with ambiguous situations with good decision making skills.
