Accessible Connectivity

Connecting a commercial high-rise with the municipal light rail transit system, this 4-1/2 foot vertical lift was added as a vital connective hub between two spaces. Ease of use, safety, reliability and durability were priorities for this frequently used lift, without compromising the carefully curated aesthetic of the space, or flow of adjacent foot traffic.

Refined Retrofit Capability

When our client renovated a heritage space for their new head office, they faced unique layout considerations that could cause accessibility challenges in reaching the main office space. Looking for a refined solution while integrating with the sophisticated, modern and welcoming corporate entrance aesthetic, the Commercial Stratus fit the bill and gave our client a seamless solution that didn’t break the bank, or look out of place.

French Modern Luxury

This 8,000 square foot newly built private residence is designed to impress and entertain. The elevator was designed to highlight the home’s incredible river valley views with a glass-backed car and shaft, giving riders a breathtaking vista as they ride from the basement sports court and gym to the rooftop hot tub. It’s black, white and marble finishings and custom sliding door fit seamlessly with this modern, youthful, and grand home.

Uncompromisingly Sophisticated Infill

This home is part of an infill project in a mature central neighourhood. The elevator was added to give homeowners unfettered access while maximizing vertical space. Its understated design and four-stops with three entry points minimizes the product’s footprint while maximizing impact, ushering riders (and their furry friends) from the basement garage all the way to a rooftop deck, stopping in the kitchen, and bedroom levels along the journey.

Accessibility Takes Centre Stage

This commercial elevator is no wallflower. Designed with a staircase wrapping around it, and made fully of glass, riders get a 270 degree view of the stunning golf course that surrounds it. When faced with an accessibility challenge, our client chose to lean-in to the aesthetic potential of our products and created a truly wow-ing experience for those who need, or simple chose to ride in style in this two storey multipurpose building which houses a pro-shop, meeting spaces and a café.

Creating Freedom at Home

After an accident left our client in a wheelchair, he was suddenly cut off from many of the day-to-day aspects of life at home. When his family made the decision to build a new home, the goal was designing a space that allowed everyone to be together in every space. This fully accessible new build includes a discrete three stop elevator that connects the walk-out basement, the main floor living space, and the third floor bedroom space, giving unbridled home freedom to all members of this lovely family.

Can I install a residential elevator on my own?
We understand that installing a residential mobility solution, like an elevator or lift, is a significant financial investment. However, to guarantee our products’ safety and optimal lifecycle, they must be installed by a guaranteed RAM dealer and contractor. That’s because we ensure legal and regulatory compliance on every installation so you can enjoy a secure, durable, and reliable home mobility solution for years to come.
Will an elevator installation affect the structural integrity of my home?
At RAM, we understand that your home is your sanctuary— and, likely, your most significant investment. That’s why we’ve spent decades designing and engineering residential mobility solutions to have minimal impact on a home’s structure. Our elevators and lifts are shaftless, which means they don’t require a machine room installation, meaning they are less invasive and damaging. If you’re still worried about the impact of a residential elevator installation on your home, we suggest looking at one of our residential lift options instead, which are even less invasive.
Does a residential elevator require maintenance?
Like any other mechanical device, such as a furnace or motor, your RAM Elevator requires periodic maintenance to keep it functioning at its best. Thanks to our innovative engineering and design, though, your new residential elevator from RAM will require less frequent or invasive maintenance than a traditional elevator with a machine room and drive shaft. We’re happy to walk you through your maintenance schedule as part of our installation and onboarding process.
How many floors can a residential elevator travel?
RAM’s residential elevator solutions can move between two to four floors, from the basement to the attic, if that’s what your home needs. However, anything more than that and we suggest looking at one of our commercial solutions, which are more robust. If you need help moving between split levels or from ground level to a porch, you may want to consider one of our residential lift solutions.
